Gerry Wilford "Bill" Rogers

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mr. Gerry Wilford &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; Rogers 77, of 2403 Alson White Road in Graham, NC was called to his final rest on June 14, 2021.&nbsp;Bill, as he was affectionately known, was born in Alamance County to Edgar Lee and Irene White Rogers on May 25, 1944, both of whom preceded him in death.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was educated in the Alamance County School System and was a member of the first graduating class of Central High School in 1962.&nbsp;</p> <p>Bill had a long career as a truck driver with employers including; Murphy Hosiery Mill, Atlantic Custom Containers, and Lindley Mills from which he retired. He also worked for a number of years at Burlington Industries Finishing Plant and as a security guard at AT&amp;T.</p> <p>Bill was an avid horseman and a longstanding member of the Piedmont Horseman&rsquo;s Association. His claim to fame was racking horses with Sampson, his prize winning horse, and barrel racing. He won numerous trophies and ribbons in competitive horse shows over the years.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>He always had a passion for music, and became a very talented bass guitarist. As a lover of Rock and Roll and the Blues, he played with The Weejuns and The Taste of Time bands for many years.</p> <p>Bill was united in holy matrimony to Mozella Mauldin in 1965 who preceded him in death. Their daughter, Donella Rogers Ratliff, also preceded him in death.&nbsp;</p> <p>Left to cherish his memory is his son Christopher Rogers (Jenny); his brother Bobby Rogers; four grandchildren Aaron, Blake, Daziah, and Nicholas; one great grandchild Addison Rose, son-in- law Dwight Ratliff and a host of other close family and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mr. Gerry Wilford “Bill” Rogers 77, of 2403 Alson White Road in Graham, NC was called to his final rest on June 14, 2021. Bill, as he was affectionately known, was born in Alamance County to Edgar Lee and Irene White Rogers on May 25, 1944, both of whom preceded him in death.
