Joseph served as a former executive director at the Helen Keller National Center. He began his career at HKNC in 1976 and held various leadership positions over the years including 23 years as executive director. He was well known on a national level for his dedication to improving the lives of people who are DeafBlind. In 2003 Joe was the recipient of the prestigious Anne Sullivan Macy Medal at the 13th DeafBlind International World Conference. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. 302 Long Beach Rd. Island Park, NY. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday June 22, 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Martyr Church in Long Beach, NY. Private Cremation.
