Reva M. Steffen

Reva M. (Arnold) Steffen, 89, of Neponset, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at Betty’s Garden Memory Care. Reva was born May 12, 1932, in Buda, IL, the daughter of Stuart and Della (Robinson) Arnold. Reva attended Buda Schools, graduating with the class of 1950. She attended John C. Proctor School of Nursing, graduating with the class of 1953. Reva married Daniel Steffen of Low Point, IL in 1953; he preceded her in death in 2014. Reva is survived by son, Scott (Janell) and a granddaughter, Danielle of Neponset. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Theresa; and son-in-law, Ronald Brown. After working part time at Proctor Hospital, they moved to Neponset in 1960, where they farmed. In 1963 she began working as an operating room nurse at Kewanee Public Hospital, she retired in 1998. Reva was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Kewanee Bowling Association, where she was in the Hall of Fame. She was a Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Bears fan. She enjoyed doing puzzles, solving Jumble and word searches. She especially enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and a farm tour of Germany and England. She especially enjoyed wintering in Texas. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 pm, Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Pastor Brian Giese will officiate.
