Richard Potts went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13, 2021, in Graham. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Barclay Room at Young County Arena. Interment will follow at Loving Cemetery. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Richard was born February 21, 1956, in Graham to Thomas Edward and June Marie Conlee Potts. He was retired from AT&T, where he worked for 35 years. He worked as a Farmer and Rancher. He was a member of Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He loved rodeos and was an avid Team Roper. If you attended a Team Roping event at Young County Arena, chances are you would find him there. He competed in the Senior Team Roping Association, United States Team Roping Championships, and 40+ Team Roping events. He married Shannon Plowman on May 15, 2016, in Young County. He was a man of few words and will be dearly missed by all. Richard is survived by his Wife, Shannon Potts, 2 sons: Joshua Potts and husband Abery Knight, Taylor Potts and wife Maury Potts. 2 daughters, Marka Genz and Micah Chandler. Stepson Travis Plowman and wife Kendra, and Stepdaughter Brady Plowman. Sister Anna Marie Maggard, and 5 Grandchildren, Elijah Potts, Samuel Potts, Judah Potts, Kelton Genz, and Kylee Genz. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Edward Potts, and by a brother Charles Edwin Potts.
