Sally (Donovan) Hogue

<p>Sally Joan Donovan Hogue,&nbsp;formerly&nbsp;of Penn Hills,&nbsp;went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 12, 2021&nbsp;(The Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary). &nbsp;She was born in Pittsburgh on August 21, 1932,&nbsp;to the late John J. Donovan and the late Sarah (Berry) Donovan.</p> <p>Sally spent her early life in Pittsburgh,&nbsp;but then her family moved to Hollidaysburg, PA where she graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. &nbsp;She began her career as an Executive Secretary working for General Refractories;&nbsp;first in Claysburg, PA and later Pittsburgh. &nbsp;She then became a full-time Wife, Mother and Homemaker when she married her beloved&nbsp;husband&nbsp;the&nbsp;late Roy E. Hogue.They lived together for 52 years before his passing.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Sally suffered from&nbsp;Alzheimer&rsquo;s&nbsp;Disease&nbsp;in her final years and was cared for lovingly by her daughter the late Bonnie Hogue,&nbsp;who passed away suddenly this past October.&nbsp;Sally spent her final year at Presbyterian Senior Care&rsquo;s Woodside Place in Oakmont being cared for by the dedicated staff there.&nbsp;In her final days she was cared for by the amazing folks at Family Hospice of UPMC in Lawrenceville.</p> <p>Sally was preceded by her brother Jack Donovan and sister,&nbsp;Maureen (Tom) Ford.&nbsp;Sally is survived by her sister,&nbsp;Kathleen (Jim) Monroe, her sons Jack (Stefanie) Hogue and Tim (Robyn) Hogue. Her grandchildren&nbsp;are Jonathan (Anya) Hueing, Joe (Lauren) Hogue and their sons&nbsp;JoJo (and soon to be born second son), Sean Hogue, Daniel Hogue, Conner Hogue, Elise Hogue, Matthew Hogue, Sydney Hogue and Giselle Hogue.&nbsp;Sally is also survived by many nieces,&nbsp;nephews, cousinsand extended family.</p> <p>Visitation will be on Friday July 2, 2021,&nbsp;from 6&nbsp;p.m.-8 p.m. at the CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110&nbsp;Frankstown&nbsp;Road in Penn Hills, PA. &nbsp;Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10&nbsp;a.m.&nbsp;Saturday,&nbsp;July&nbsp;3,&nbsp;2021,&nbsp;in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, PA. Friends, please meet at church. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.</p>

Obituary

Sally Joan Donovan Hogue, formerly of Penn Hills, went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 12, 2021 (The Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary).  She was born in Pittsburgh on August 21, 1932, to the late John J. Donovan and the late Sarah (Berry) Donovan.

Sally spent her early life in Pittsburgh, but then her family moved to Hollidaysburg, PA where she graduated from Hollidaysburg High School.  She began her career as an Executive Secretary working for General Refractories; first in Claysburg, PA and later Pittsburgh.  She then became a full-time Wife, Mother and Homemaker when she married her beloved husband the late Roy E. Hogue.They lived together for 52 years before his passing.

Visitation will be on Friday July 2, 2021, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road in Penn Hills, PA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, PA. Friends, please meet at church. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
