LULA SMITH HAMRICK Lula Beauford Smith Hamrick, 96, former resident of 204 Frances Street, widow of Charlie Huel Hamrick, died January 22, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in McCormick County, June 18, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ella Dansby Beauford and retired from Greenwood Mills, Matthews Plant. Mrs. Hamrick was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, the Maybelle Coleman Sunday School Class and Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy S. Hawkins and husband Robert of Greenwood and Bobbie S. Thomas of W. Columbia; four granddaughters, Kimberly Taylor of Batesburg, Recia Epps of Leesville, Dana Podolak of Lexington and Gina Sams of Summerville; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mamie Beauford Rambo of Greenwood. Mrs. Hamrick was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was twice married, first to the late John Earl Smith. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Taylor, Brad Epps, Jim Podolak, Greg Sams, Stefan Taylor and Chance Taylor. Honorary escort will be the men of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 Monday afternoon. Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery Association, 1422 Ninety Six Highway, Greenwood, SC 29646.
