Gordon G. Whitten Obituary

Gordon Whitten passed away June 10th, 2021, after a long battle of cancer. He was surrounded with people who loved him and was able to also see people he deeply cared for. He was joking and laughing with them and making wonderful last memories for them.

Gordon was one hell of a man who had no holds to bar!! He was a fighter and a survivor of his own will. He was so proud of the amazing medical technology they have in this world to save his leg from the cancer and would show anyone he could to amaze them. He, also, had no problems telling anyone what was on his mind all the while cracking a joke in the same breath.

He was avid outdoor’s man and loved to go fish and hunt up in the Wyoming mountains; or go get in the pig pen to run after the little piglets or in the corral after the calves. He also was known as MacGuyver and could fix anything with duct tape out in the middle of nowhere.

His friends and family were his world and would drop everything at the drop of a hat to help someone who needs it.

He was active within the community; he coached midget football as well as be on the board for the Casper Midget Football. He supported NCHS football and boosters even well after his children graduated. He was also involved with Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

He is now in heaven with the love of his life, Lydia, and going fishing with his father, Bill Whitten; as well as many other family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Christopher of Nashville, Tennessee, and Marilyn of Robinson, Texas; sisters Lea Whitten of Casper, Wyoming and Teha (Chris) Harris of Wills Point, Texas; mother Audene Whitten of Casper, Wyoming; nephew Gregory (Chandra) Tripp of Rozet, Wyoming; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Gordon will be missed by so many people within the community of both Casper, Wyoming as well as Dallas, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held on June 26, 2021, at the Keg and Cork Pub in Casper, Wyoming at 5pm. Please feel free to swing by to have a drink on Gordon and share the many memories he gave so many. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Meal on Wheels of Casper, or Casper Midget Football.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home, 600 CY Ave. Casper, WY 82601
