Doyle Willis Elliott Obituary

Doyle Willis Elliott passed away peacefully on June 10, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 87. He was born in Bell County, Texas, on June 15, 1933 to Garland W. Elliott and Cecil Bell Richards Elliott. Doyle had a happy childhood, growing up in Belton, Texas, where one of his fondest memories was walking his baby sister, Evonne, to school daily. Doyle spent his career in public service. In addition to his serving in the Army and working for the Bell County Sheriff’s department, Doyle spent 30 years as a Special Agent for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Doyle was proud of his service, always carrying his badge and his gun throughout his entire life. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Doyle was always looking forward to his next outdoor adventure and often hunted with his son, David. Above all, Doyle cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend. Doyle’s door was always open to anyone that wanted to drop by and he was always ready to fire up the barbecue pit for friends and family. He spent the last 9 years of his life married to his love, Susan. Together they shared many adventures including travelling, motorcycle riding, camping, fishing and dancing. Doyle also enjoyed his downtime, spending hours snuggled in his recliner with remote in hand, watching old westerns and war movies, while petting the furry companion sitting in his lap. It was impossible to spend time with Doyle and not be a victim of his dry sense of humor. Doyle will be missed immensely by his family and friends, but the smiles he left will remain forever on our hearts. Doyle is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Evonne Wooley and Daphna Renick, and his previous wife, Beverly Elliott. Doyle is survived by his loving wife Susan, his brothers, Richard Elliott (Carol), Kenny Elliott (Victoria), his sister EvaNell Simek, his children, Laverne Blaylock, Sharon Brandt (Brad), Daryl Elliott, David Elliott (Monica), Daryn Elliott (Tiffany), Scott Swank (Debbie), Jennifer Nolen (Matt), and Matt Swank, his grandchildren, Sandy Crowley, Matthew Brandt (Cassie), Kirk Brandt (Nicole), Camille Elliott, Cameron Swank, and Brandon Swank, his many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved Chihuahua, Penny.
