James "Jim" Edward Robison, Jr.

Cresaptown, MD – James “Jim” Edward Robison, Jr., 84, of Cresaptown, MD, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home.  Born June 23, 1936, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Robison was the son of the late James Edward Robison, Sr. and Loretta Marie (Mawier) Robison.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Joan Ware, Dorthy “Joy” Adams, and Ronald D. Robison.   A veteran of the United States Air Force, Jim was a Heavy Equipment Operator.  He had a passion for NHRA and motorcycle drag racing.  He also belonged to Operating Engineers Union, Cresaptown Eagles #2883, and the Teamsters Local #453.  Jim is survived by his loving wife of 19 years: Martha (Steinmetz) Robison; his children: Elizabeth “Libby” Harper (James); Theresa Garrett (Brent); and Janine McAvoy (Sean); his stepchildren: Eric Barnett; Jeromey Barnett (Crystal); and Shawnee Carr (Justin); and his brother: Robert “Bob” Robison.  He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor James Buchanan officiating.   Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.  Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
