<p>Doreen Katherine “Kathy” Burgess, Age 59, Beaver Brook, NS oldest daughter of Shirley Smith and the late Earl Seeton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9, 2021.</p><p>Kathy who was known for her sassy sense of humor was a devoted wife to her “Boo”, Mom, Nanny, sister, aunt.</p><p>Once her children were grown, she pursued a career as a CCA and worked at Westside Villa/Wynn Park and loved helping others. She was an avid reader and loved scary movies. Kathy loved Christmas and Snowman and had a special place in her heart for all her “fur” grandchildren.<span style="white-space:pre"> </span></p><p>Kathy is survived by her husband of 40 years Dale. Children Valerie (Scott), Melissa (Kevin), Christopher (Vanessa). Grandchildren Cole, Kaden and Jaxson.</p><p>Father in-law Reuben (Carol -deceased), Sister in-laws Dawn (Larry), Kathy. Brother in-law Rodney (Cheryl)</p><p>Siblings Tony, Pam, John, Lisa, Brian and Jonathan as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.</p><p>A special thanks to VON for the many years of care and support they provided to Kathy.</p><p>The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Center for the care and compassion in Kathy’s final hours.</p><p>Cremation has taken place. Doreen Katherine “Kathy” Burgess, Age 59, Beaver Brook, NS oldest daughter of Shirley Smith and the late Earl Seeton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9, 2021.

Kathy who was known for her sassy sense of humor was a devoted wife to her “Boo”, Mom, Nanny, sister, aunt.
