Though she spent her childhood growing up in Oklahoma, Illinois, New Mexico, and Louisiana, it was in Malvern, Arkansas that she met and married the love of her life, William Overturf. The couple were married on November 16, 1963 and raised three children together. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lee and James Davenport, and one sister, Mary. She is survived by her husband, one son, Shane Overturf (Lisa) from Twin Bridges, Montana, two daughters, Angela Jackson from Maumelle, Arkansas and Sheila (Steve) Tucker of Malvern, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Bob Jarvis (Lucy) from Shreveport, Louisiana, two sisters, Meshell Maxey of Bossier City, Louisiana and Patricia, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Carol was a stay-at-home wife and mother with a couple of breaks when she worked for the first time at Timex and later at Alf’s sewing factory. In life, Carol loved giving to others, and she would do anything for her friends and family. She enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family. In death she will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her. Until we meet again… Visitation will be Saturday, June 12 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Atkinson Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Arkansas Hospice Hot Springs in Carol’s name. Arrangements were made under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern, Arkansas. Guests may register at www.atkinsonfuneralhome.net
