Forrest "Foe" D. Bottemiller Obituary

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, Forrest “Foe” Bottemiller, loving husband, father of three, and Christ’s faithful servant heard his Father’s voice say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Forrest was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Ridgefield, WA, to Esther and Daniel Bottemiller. He graduated Ridgefield High School in 1946 and entered the Army serving in Germany after the bombing. On Dec. 17, 1948, he married his sweetheart Doris Kelley. They celebrated 73 years of marriage. They raised two daughters, Rhonda Fragua (Salem, OR), Tami Cassity (Marsing, ID), and one son, Tracy (Kalama, WA). He has nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Forrest had a passion for Christ. His greatest prayer was that his loved ones, family and friends, know Christ’s saving grace. He enthusiastically shared his passion openly with anyone he met. He was an avid supporter of his church and took many mission trips including his latest to Hawaii, Mozambique and Madagascar. He was truly a prayer warrior for those he loved. He was a great and avid sportsman. He loved salmon fishing and hunting. His greatest times were spent with his son, family and close friends out on the river or on a hunting adventure. He was truly a people person, never meeting someone he wouldn’t talk to and invite home for dinner. Along with his Heavenly Father, those who greeted him into his new home are his father, Daniel; his mother, Esther; two of his three brothers, Curtis and Jerry; and his three sisters, Elaine Oquist, Ina Heriford, and Jeanette Andring; his son-in-law, Marvin Fragua; and his great-grandson, Francisco Fragua. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his three children, Rhonda, Tami (Don), Tracy; and his younger brother, Dean; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene, 14410 NW 21st Avenue, Vancouver (Salmon Creek area) at 3 p.m. Please join us to celebrate his life. Internment will be Monday, June 28, 2 p.m., family only.
