Beryl Leroy Evans Obituary

Beryl Leroy Evans, 79, Marion, passed at home peacefully at 6:36 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021, and was surrounded by his family. He was born in Marion on Thursday, August 21, 1941, to Russell "Ted" and Edith (Johnson) Evans. On November 27, 1962, he married Chizuko Itoman, and she survives. Beryl graduated from Oak Hill High School and was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He retired from General Motors in Anderson, where he worked in Production. Beryl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and western movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandkids’ games. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Chizuko Evans of Marion; children: Ted Lee (Amy) Evans of Marion, Maria Anne (James) Rowe of Gas City, Barbara Renee (Christopher) Kelly of Marion, and Michael Leroy (Amy) Evans of Fairmount; grandsons, Kristopher (Kayla) Rowe, Zachary (Lindsay) Lyons, Matthew Lyons, Noah Lyons, Nicholas Evans, Tyler Evans, Samuel (Samphosh) Rowe, and Victor Lee; granddaughters, Katelyn Rowe, Kandace Rowe, Sara (Nolan) Honeycutt, and Maddison Evans; great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Lyons, Reagan Lyons, and Madlynn Rowe; great-grandsons, Maddux Lyons and Landon Honeycutt; nephew, Chris (Kim) Timmons; and nieces, Marjorie (George) Walker, Robin Evans, and Kelli Siler. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert (Sandra) Timmons, Ronald (Kay) Evans, and George Eddie Timmons; and sister, Louise Gause. The family will have a private service to celebrate Beryl's life. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, 230 W.
