Jacquelyn Jean Salive, 90, died after a brief illness, June 10, 2021 at her home in Potomac, Maryland. She is survived by her three wonderful children, Marcel E. (Carolyn Pollard), Margaret Punch (Jeff) and Matthew, five grandchildren, Becky Punch, Allison Punch, Natalie Salive, Marie-Claire Salive, and Jeremy Punch. She was born in Sioux Falls, SD on June 16, 1930 to the late Maurice Bailey Edwards and Margaret Emily (Pereboom) Edwards. She grew up in small towns throughout Iowa before attending Iowa State University majoring in zoology. She later earned a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Her career included laboratory work, teaching, ultimately retiring in 2000 from a senior copy editor position at the American Physiologic Society. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, Marcel Leon Salive who preceded her in death in 2016. She was a world traveler, avid reader and founding member of the Potomac Woods Book Club, which is vigorous after more than 50 years. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 7730 Bradley Blvd., Bethesda, MD 20817, in the near future.
