Angie Cornejo DeFrenchi

Angie (Cornejo) DeFrenchi passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Wellington Health and Rehab in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 72. She was born the daughter of Antonio and Carmen (Esparza) Cornejo on April 12, 1949 in Wellington, Kansas. Following school, she moved to Wichita and later to Wendell, Idaho where she lived for many years with her daughter and family. Eventually Angie relocated back to Kansas to be closer to family. Once home, she began working at Future's Unlimited where she was the Cedar House supervisor for many years. Angie loved the resident's she cared for and encouraged her family to be involved with them. In the early 90's she met William "Bill" Harris and the two enjoyed over 20 years together until his passing in 2017. Family was very important to Angie and she looked forward to the annual Christmas gathering with her parents, children, grandchildren, sister and her family. She loved to cook and made everyone their favorites: enchilada's, pork chile, beans, rice and dessert. Other things she enjoyed were the color purple, riding motorcycles, watching movies, reading and little yappy dogs (Jolene and Abby). Angie lived life her own way and what an adventure it was. She will be missed by all that knew her. Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Hansen (David) of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Amber Lynn DeFrenchi of Durango, Colorado; sister, Gloria Cornejo of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren: Tytus Cornejo (April) of Wellington, Kansas, Justin Cornejo (Celeste) of Wichita, Kansas, Jocelyn Cornejo of Wichita, Kansas, Summer Hansen of Wellington, Kansas, Chelsi Hansen of Wellington, Kansas, Julius Arredondo, Armancio Arredondo, Meiah Arredondo and Noah Fitzhugh all of Durango, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Maizy, Ralph, Sophie, Benny, Rosie and Manny Cornejo, Julian, Allarynn, Addalynn, Annalynn, Antonio Cornejo and Marissa, Jixi, Jax, JoyAnne and Jared Cornejo-Bacon, Ava and Navaeh Tate and Hunter Schneider; step-son, Toby Harris (Kacie) and their family; step-daughter, Shelly Kuhnert and her family and a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Cornejo) Horsch along with a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Carmen Cornejo, sons: Ralph Cornejo and Marcus Kerr and her husband, Bill Harris. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Angie will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, Kansas. A memorial has been established in her name with the Wellington Humane Society, PO Box 494, Wellington, Kansas. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
