Larry Joseph Roger, Sr.

Larry J. Roger, Sr., a native and resident of Thibodaux, passed away in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the age of 79. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Judy Toups Roger; sons, Larry Roger, Jr. (Terie) and Jarrod Roger; grandchildren, Mallorie Shields (Jeremy) and Beau Roger (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Jackson Shields, Cooper Blanchard, and Liam Roger; sisters, Joylyn Roger Rodrigue (Stewart) and Sharon Roger Daigle (Ronnie); and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Lucy Bourgeois Roger; and in-laws, Claude and Verna Boudreaux Toups. Larry was a long-time employee of Pope's Parts. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Carol Duet, his Home Health nurses, Heather Miller and Lauren Lambert, and all of his doctors and staff for their care and compassion.
