Dr. Samuel D. Stearns, born June 18, 1930, went to his Eternal Home June 7, 2021. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary; her daughters, Lynda and Cheryl Olman; children, Jennifer (Paul) Civerolo, Laurie (Tom) Selby, and Charles (Frederica) Stearns; grandchildren, Steven and Michael (Jacqueline) Civerolo, Nicholas and Lucas Selby, Nathaniel and Samuel Stearns; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Katherine Noelle Civerolo. 

Sam retired as a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Dikewood, Sandia National Laboratories, was an IEEE Fellow and professor emeritus at UNM. His greatest joy was serving his Lord Jesus Christ and ministering as deacon at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.  We are so grateful for his godly influence in our lives and the lives of so many.  We will miss him deeply. 

A service in his memory will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.  Ennichement will take place at a later date.
