Dorothy L. Erickson, 78, of Bradford, Iowa, passed away March 10, 2010, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. She was born on June 19, 1931, in rural Aredale, Iowa, to Harold and Bernice (Crooks) Jones. Dorothy graduated from Hansell High School in Hansell, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Arlyn Erickson in Webster City, Iowa, on December 31, 1956. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked as the head cook at the Dumont Community School for several years. She also worked in the dietary department at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, crocheting and going out to eat. She also loved spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her husband Arlyn Erickson of Bradford, daughter Belva and husband Dan Cross of Hampton, son Lee and wife Ruth Erickson of Mackinaw, Illinois, son Carl and wife Anna Erickson of Haughton, Louisiana, four granddaughters, Jasmine and husband Johnny Bello Callas of San Diego, California, Crystal Cross of Hampton, Heather Erickson of Mackinaw, Illinois and Melissa Erickson of Mackinaw, Illinois, brother Donald and wife Rose Jones of Dumont and sister Donna Mae and husband Carl Klenk of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother in infancy.
