<p style="text-align: center;"> </p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 am on July 24, 2021</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">at Pleasantview Cemetery in Hayti, SD</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><font face="times new roman, times, serif"><span style="font-size: 20px;">Reception to follow at Hayti Firehall</span></font></strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Darlene (Pesha) Wagner, announce her passing on September 13, at the age of 81.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br /> <strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Carol died from the complications of Parkinson's disease at Trinity Care Center in Farmington, Minnesota.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br /> <strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Carol was born on December 5, 1938 in Faulkton, South Dakota.<br /> <br /> She spent her early years on the Miranda family farm.<br /> <br /> Her family moved to Faulkton, South Dakota when Carol was 14 years old.<br /> <br /> After high school, Carol attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.<br /> <br /> She graduated in 1957 with a degree in Nursing.<br /> <br /> While working as a nurse in Redfield, South Dakota, Carol met the love of her life, Richard Wagner.<br /> <br /> Carol and Richard married in 1959 and went on to have three daughters.<br /> <br /> In 1966, after briefly living in West Fargo, North Dakota, they settled in Hayti, South Dakota, where they raised their three girls. They spent over 40 happy years in the Hayti community.<br /> <br /> Carol had a deep faith in God.<br /> <br /> As the end of her life approached, Carol was asked if she was afraid.<br /> <br /> Carol responded, "I am not afraid, my faith is strong."<br /> <br /> Carol spent many years as a public health nurse in Hamlin County.<br /> <br /> She touched many lives with her dedication to the health of others.<br /> <br /> In her free time, Carol loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, reading, playing cards, golfing, camping and hunting. In other words, she loved to be busy! But her main focus in life was her family and her Hayti and Watertown friends.<br /> <br /> Carol was preceded in death by her husband Richard (Dick) Wagner, her parents, Oliver and Anne Pesha, and her three sisters, Lois Miller, JoAnne Collins, and Janice Houghtaling.<br /> <br /> Carol will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Kimberly (Erwin) Schaefer of Rancho Cucamonga California, Darlene (Brian) Amdahl of Eagan, Minnesota, Patricia (Al) Bruinsma of Billings, Montana. Grandchildren include Gabe (Jenny) Schaefer of Clovis, California, Reina (Corey) Coggins of Billings, Montana, Matt (Ipek) Amdahl of Rochester, Minnesota, Ashley (Jon) Andersen of Excelsior, Minnesota, Bo Bruinsma of Billings, Montana, Chelsea Schaefer of Long Barn, California, and Alec Schaefer of Los Angeles, California.<br /> <br /> Great-grandchildren include Grace, Zander, Ruby, Murphy and Nathan.<br /> <br /> A memorial service is expected at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<br /> <br /> The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Trinity Care Center and Fairview Hospice Care for the outstanding care and compassion.<br /> <br /> Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel.</span></span></strong></p>Obituary

Carol died from the complications of Parkinson's disease at Trinity Care Center in Farmington, Minnesota.
