Eldred “Eldie” Gary Nyhus passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the age of 91 at home from heart problems.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, June 3 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel of Chippewa Falls. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 4 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Eagleton with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be in the Eagleton Cemetery with military honors.

Eldred was born on April 27, 1930 to Arthur and Savrina (Flackey) Nyhus in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He married Violet Reim on November 3, 1951. Eldie was a Korean War Veteran, worked at the Falls Dairy in Jim Falls for 20 years and proudly owned Eldie’s Bar in Jim Falls for over 20 years. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed playing cribbage as often as he could.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Violet; children, Gary Nyhus of Chippewa Falls, Sandy (Dave) Heidtke of Eagleton, Tim (Cindy) Nyhus of Chippewa Falls, Cindy Heidtke of Chippewa Falls, Pam (Charlie) Parkhurst of Jim Falls, Art (Gina) Nyhus of Chippewa Falls and Debbie (Bill) Spearbecker of Barron; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda (Bob) LeCleir and Rogene (Jim) Cardinal and brother, Ron (Jan) Nyhus and many friends and relatives.

Eldie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine Denning, Sharon Nyhus and Donna; brothers, Merne, Harlen and Duane (Whimp) Nyhus.
