On Saturday afternoon, May 15, 2021, Marie Virginia Knuter passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Marie was born on December 17, 1935 to Louis Vargas and Lillian Archuleta Vargas. She lived her life in the Denver area while working various jobs as an Accounting Technician and finally retiring after 30 years of Federal Service in December 1992. She continued to pursue her interests while volunteering at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for special exhibits and with Arapahoe County in many positions during elections. Marie enjoyed traveling and loved going on cruises with family members and friend groups. She was an avid reader and movie watcher, and followed the Denver Broncos with a passion.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Lynnette Conner of Aspen and her two granddaughters, Delaney Conner of New York and Mackenzie Conner of Chicago, as well as her sister, Helen Roach and her nephew, Richard (Sally) Roach of the Denver area.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dwaine Knuter, her son-in-law, Claude Conner, and her brother-in-law, Roger Roach.
