Peter George Krokondelas Obituary

Peter George Krokondelas passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from a sudden heart attack.  He was 52.  While God took him far too soon, Peter leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, friendship and love.

Peter was born on March 23, 1969 in Queens, New York.  After attending Archbishop Molloy High School, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in Political Management from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University.  After graduating, Peter launched a successful career in government and community relations in New York City that spanned more than three decades.  In 2020, when Peter was recognized as one of City & State’s Top 50 over 50, he noted that “More than any individual accomplishment, I value the many friendships I have made over the past 30 years.”

In 2000, New York City boy Peter met the love of his life, a girl from Ohio named Stephanie Swenton.  They married on the Island of St. Thomas on May 29, 2004.  In 2007, they welcomed their son Jack, and in 2009, his brother Joseph.  Peter was a devoted husband and father who loved planning vacations, barbequing, watching movies and baseball, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife and sons, Peter is survived by his mother Linda Krokondelas and his brother George Krokondelas.

For all of his outstanding accomplishments in government and politics, Peter was proudest of his two sons.  Nothing made him happier than cheering at their baseball and basketball games, listening to Joseph play trumpet and ukulele, strategizing fantasy baseball trades with Jack, and having dinner as a family while watching just about anything on television.

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

John 14:1-3

On behalf of Stephanie, her boys, and family, all are invited to join them after Mass for a luncheon at St. Mary's-Maris Stella Knights of Columbus - 74 Hempstead Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563.
