Don Duane Dumas

<p>Don Duane Dumas, born July 8, 1932, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 23, 2021. Born to Wilburn Walter &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; and Laura Welch Dumas, Don was a devoted son and brother and had fond memories of growing up in Murray and Sandy.&nbsp; Don served his country while stationed with the Army in Oklahoma during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he married his sweetheart, Janice Malstrom, and together had a happy life and family. He was a master plumber by trade, and took great pride in the fact that he helped build his community. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leroy and Charles. Don is survived by his wife Janice and their children, Clayton Dumas (Barbara), Darlene Stillman (John, deceased), Donna&nbsp; Blackett (Ed), Alison Butterfield (Troy) and Duane Dumas (Carrie). He will be dearly missed by his children and all who knew him, including his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.</p> <p>Of all the roles Don had in his life, the most important and difficult was that of caregiver for Janice as she faced Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease. His dedication and love for her was unyielding, even as dementia gripped his own mind and body. Even in his passing, he helped to ease her fears by leading the way.</p> <p>A graveside service will be held to honor Don on Thursday, June 3rd at 11:00 am at the Sandy City Cemetery (9000 South 700 East).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Don Duane Dumas, born July 8, 1932, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 23, 2021. Born to Wilburn Walter “Bill” and Laura Welch Dumas, Don was a devoted son and brother and had fond memories of growing up in Murray and Sandy.  Don served his country while stationed with the Army in Oklahoma during the Korean War.
