Loetta D. Jeske

Loetta D. Jeske of Independence, MO, a strong woman who was a fighter to the end, passed away on May 26, 2021. She was 79 years old. Loetta was born on October 14, 1941 in Lexington, Missouri, to Harold and Nadine Miller. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS, in the class of 1959. Loetta then went on to marry Horst Jeske on April 11, 1962 in Raytown, MO and two sons were born to this union: Steve and Jim. She was a super wife, mother, and grandmother. Loetta was very family oriented and was always very supportive and guided everyone. She was a devoted Christian for 60 years and was a proud member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Independence, MO. Her family and friends knew her as a very caring person who would do anything for anyone and had a heart of gold. Loetta was an excellent cook who always put together great meals, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed flowers, birds, gardening and sewing. She was a feisty woman who always spoke her mind and she will be deeply missed by many. Loetta is survived by her husband of 59 years, Horst Jeske; sons, Steve (Michele) Jeske and Jim Jeske; grandson, Connor Jeske and siblings, Frances (Ed) Norris, Madge Emery, Claude (Cindy) Miller, Raymond Miller, and Annie Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold C. and Nadine L. Miller, sister, Lois and brother, Robert. A visitation to honor Loetta will be held on Friday, May 28, from 1-2 p.m., with a funeral service to follow, at 2:00 p.m., both at the at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence, MO.
