Gertrude Bernadette Doucette Killaloe, Ontario Obituary

Gertrude Bernadette Doucette

Peacefully at Hospice Renfrew on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at the age of 81. Gertie Bernadette Doucette. Predeceased by her husband Douglas. Loving mother of Judy, Doug, Greg (Marjorie), Mark (Carolyn), Catherine (Michael). Predeceased by her son Andy. “Nanny” will be greatly missed by Sherry, Brian, Tyler and Allison. Great Nanny to Nathan and Bailey. She leaves behind her beloved cat, Willy. 60+ years ago, Doug and Gert embarked on their journey to start a life in the Ottawa Valley. They left their roots in Nova Scotia and settled into the town of Renfrew. This led them to establish a small red chip truck known as “Mr. Chips”. Together, they enjoyed many years of hockey, girl guides and volunteering in the community. We as a family are extremely proud of their hard work, endless support and love over the years. They will be deeply missed. We find comfort in knowing they are now reunited and enjoying a Cape Breton kitchen party with all the fiddles and pipes. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pinard, Morgan Delarge, and Hospice Renfrew for their care and compassion during mom’s time of need. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home. Those wishing to show an expression of sympathy may donate to Renfrew Hospice.
