Carl Edward “Ed” Barton, 72, of Frankfort, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born in Frankfort on Thursday, February 17, 1949 the son of the late William Eugene and Lena Brust Barton. Ed married the former Linda L. Taylor on July 7, 1974. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda, six children, Bart (Angie) Barton of Frankfort, Brandon (Jennifer) Barton of Greenfield, Jennifer Barton Miller of Lancaster, Melissa Anderson (Jim Casebolt) of Frankfort, Mindy (Cliff) Royse and David (Shawn) Olaker all of Greenfield, fourteen grandchildren, Ryan, Nikki, Roni, Paul, Brittany, Savannah, Veronica, Mercedes, Branten, Owen, Evan, Ashlee, Justice, and Joella, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Doerschuk of West Chicago, IL. Ed was preceded in death by one grandson, Jarritt Miller, one great-granddaughter, Lyndey Olaker, one brother Bill, and four sisters, Gale, Sally, Edna and Crystal.

Ed was a life-long farmer. He worked as a mechanic at Case Power Equipment in Washington C.H. He worked at the Kenworth Truck plant in Chillicothe where he retired from in 2004. Following his retirement, he and his sons started 3D Excavating.    

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield. Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery. Family and friends can visit with Ed’s family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
