Degree in groundwater microbiology from the University of Regina, under the supervision of Dr. Roy Cullimore. During this time, he would also meet Evelyn, the mother of his three children.

After establishing Water World Industries in Estevan, SK, his career brought him to Kansas City, MO where he worked for Layne Christensen Inc. for 10 years. He then accepted a partnership alongside brothers Chris and Steve Catania as Vice President of Technical Services with Subsurface Technologies.
