Carolyn Gerene Whidden, 72, of Mountain View, Arkansas, died May 11, 2021, at Batesville Hospital surrounded by her immediate family. She was born April 26, 1949, in Batesville, Arkansas to James Leonard Broyles and Era Leona Lawrence-Broyles. Carolyn was a member of Vine Avenue Missionary Baptist Church for most of her life. She was happily married to Lawrence Edward Whidden for 51 years. She worked as a nurse for many years but later joined her husband in a career of truck driving. Carolyn enjoyed sharing her love for God with others, reading her bible, singing gospel music, watching hummingbirds, gardening, painting, traveling, telling scary stories, and spending time with her friends and family. She was known for being a strong prayer warrior. When someone needed prayer even if they did not ask, she kept them in her prayers. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was survived by two daughters Veronica Davis of Mountain View AR and Melisa Parson of Guion Ar. Son in law Tim Parson. She had three granddaughters Larissa Hall and Ethen, Nicole Sharp and Jared, and Sidney Ivy and Johnathan. She had eight great-grandchildren Payton, Emily, Jeremiah, Zelda, Logan, Aiden, Christian, and Asher. She was survived by three brothers and one sister Paul Broyles, James Broyles, Jimmy Broyles, and Janice Brown. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father and mother James Leonard Broyles and Era Leona Broyles. Her Husband Lawrence Edward Whidden. Her three brothers Ulis Eugene Broyles, Conley Monroe Cummins, and Johnny Alvin Broyles. A visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Mountain View Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Mountain View Funeral Service Chapel, beginning at 2:00 P.M. Brother Gary Don Fletcher will officiate the service. Honorary Pallbearers are her three grandson-in-laws Jared Sharp, Ethan Hall, Johnathon Baze, and longtime family friends Ralph Thatch and Ralph Jr. Thatch II.
