Belmont, North Carolina Dana Eugene Williams, 59, passed away May 16, 2021 peacefully at his home. He was born September 7, 1961 in Landstuhl Germany, a son of the late Fred and Suzanne Williams. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie Whitney Williams of Belmont; devoted children Heather Phillips and husband Ryan of Gastonia, Dana Marie Barnes and husband Shane of Kings Mountain, Blake Williams of Belmont, Cassidy Crisp of Belmont, Hunter Crisp of Charlotte; grandchildren Carson Mumpower, Cooper Phillips, Spencer Phillips, Lyndsey Barnes, Carly Barnes and Ace Barnes; brothers and sisters Scott Williams and wife Gloria, Brian Williams and wife Becky, Richard Williams and wife Lana, Tena Lasswell and husband Dennis; mother and father-in-law Dennis and Sharon Whitney and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by two sisters Tanya and Brenda Williams. Dana proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm working closely with White House communications during his service. He was a loving family man, a hard working machinist and enjoyed grilling Sunday dinners for his entire family. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia. A service celebrating Dana's life will follow in the Founders Chapel with Rev. Curtis Wilson officiating and Military Honors rendered by the Gaston County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chordoma Foundation, PO Box 2127, Durham, NC 27702 or Purple Heart Homes, Inc, purplehearthomes.harnessapp.com.
