Theresa B. (McIntyre) Utz, age 67, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Haymarket Virginia. She was the loving wife of Gene E. Utz. Theresa was born on June 1, 1953 and was the daughter of the late Grayson and Grace (Noel) McIntyre. Theresa spent most of her life after high school working in the IT field. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, talking with her loved ones, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Anyone who has ever met Theresa knew that she loved and collected butterflies. Recently, Theresa and Gene moved in with their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren so she could spend her remaining time surrounded by her loved ones. She loved living on her mountaintop, sitting outside with her husband, her family, her grand-dogs, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels and the butterflies. In addition to her husband Gene, Theresa is survived by her daughter Shannon Welteroth and husband David; her grandchildren Breanna, Ethan, and Abigail; and her grand-dogs Griffin and Whiskey. She was also survived by her brothers Bill, Grayson, Robert, and Richard McIntyre; her sisters Elaine Ray and Virgie Gambleman; and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by her brothers Anthony and Mark McIntyre; and her sisters Doris Miller, Ruth Gilbert, Francis Kamiel, and Joan Wenschof. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM at Annunciation Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 26 N. 3rd St. McSherrystown PA 17344. Theresa will be laid to rest following the Mass at the church cemetery. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00PM, and on Thursday from 9:30-10:30AM, at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown PA 17344. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Theresa’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
