Sally Bruce Tillett Rogers, passed away gently in her home, surrounded by loving family on May 15, 2021. She was born March 11, 1933 to Harry Randolph Tillett and Eugenia Anderson Tillett. She grew up in Ashburn, Virginia with her three siblings, Patricia Warner Malloy, Nancy Waddell, and Pete Tillett, all of whom predeceased her. Sally graduated from Leesburg High School, where she served as president of her senior class, and from American University with a B.A. in Art History. She was an avid gardener and an active golfer even in to her eighties. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard A. Rogers, and four children: Richard A. Rogers, Jr. (Susan), Sally Mann (Roy), Anne Overstreet, and Thomas Rogers (Stacie). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Louise Sumner, Alex Rogers, Ted Rogers, Elizabeth Scully, Rebecca Mann, Ryan Rogers, and Lindsay Rogers; and eight great grandchildren: Henry Sumner, George Sumner, John Sumner, Anderson Rogers, Betsy Rogers, Lila Mae Rogers, Sutton Rogers, and Jackson Scully. Ned Overstreet (Anne’s husband), Jack Mann (grandson), and an infant son preceded her in death. Private interment will be in Union Cemetery of Leesburg, Va. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Purcellville Baptist Church (601 Yaxley Drive, Purcellville, VA 20132) or a charity of your choice.
