Memorial services for David William Kerr, 71, of Sperry, OK, were held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Skiatook Church of Christ in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Russell Hill officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Danny Kerr, Sr., Danny Kerr, Jr., J.D. Kerr, Brady Robinson, Austin Richardson, and Alan Keith.

David was born October 2, 1949 in Tulsa, OK, to James William and Christine Lou (Roberts) Kerr. He passed away May 14, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.

David lived in Tulsa, OK, Chicago, IL, Rialto, CA and Sperry, OK. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, CA. He was a Navy veteran, having proudly served his country from 1969-1972. He later met and married Laura Gail Whisman on January 31, 1976 in Tulsa, OK. David’s hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren, Kaylee and Zoey, oil, and acrylic painting, and taking trips to Eureka Springs, AR while staying with his cousin, Terri. He also enjoyed listening to George Strait music, going on family vacations, fishing with J.D. at Roaring River, teasing Kristina, feeding his birds, making bird houses, woodworking, and smoking ribs. He worked for Kerr Lawn Care for 4 years, and Tulsa Transit for 10 years and was a co-owner of Kerr Rental Properties for 25 years, and David worked for the Williams Company for 35 years and retired at the age of 55. He was a member of the Skiatook Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Kerr; son, J.D. Kerr and wife, Kristina; grandchildren, Kaylee Kerr, and Zoey Kerr; brothers and sisters, Linda Kerr-Gosney, Danny Kerr, Sr., and Judy Kerr-Asbill-Moore; aunts, Jean McKnight-Maxey-Rieman, Crystal McKnight-Bradford, and Judy Brown-Tinsley; dogs, Alpha and Bubby; cats, Charmie and Flower; grand dogs, Izzy, Harlee and Dixie; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Christine Kerr; brother, Paul Kerr; and aunt, Nola McKnight-Pawlak.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in David’s memory be made to the Good Shepherd Humane Society, 6486 Hwy 62 W, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
