<p>Ellsworth T. Hatlestad, 95 of New London, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.&nbsp; His Funeral will be 1p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake near New London.&nbsp; Visitation will be prior to the service, from 11 a.m. &ndash; 1 p.m. at the church.&nbsp; Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Ellsworth Thorin Hatlestad was born on April 21, 1926, on a farm in Arctander Township, the son of Cornell and Geoline (Rood) Hatlestad. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran of Norway Lake. He attended country grade school in District # 69 and New London High School, graduating in 1944. He entered the U.S. Army, at the end of WWII where he was stationed in Korea and served as a medic.&nbsp;&nbsp; On September 9, 1950, Ellsworth was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Doris Wall.&nbsp; They built their home and farmed with his brothers Sherlyn and Hanley, west of New London. This union was blessed with two daughters and two sons. They were able to share in 63 years of marriage before Doris&rsquo; death on Jan. 17, 2014.</p> <p>Ellsworth was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake where he was an active volunteer, sang in the choir, served on church council and taught Sunday school.</p> <p>He and Doris were original members of the West Central Concert Series in Willmar, attending concerts for over 50 years.&nbsp; He enjoyed music, bowling, baseball, reading, consuming all information, fishing, and traveling. He served for 56 years as clerk of Lake Andrew Township, and on the West Central Insurance Board, First State Bank Board, New London&ndash;Spicer School Board and the Kandiyohi County REA Board.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is survived by his children, Elaine Hayes of Chisholm, Lynn (Craig) Edwards of New London, Phillip (Carolyn) Hatlestad of New London and John (Kay) Hatlestad of Maplewood; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Mary), Daniel (Heather), Erik, Adam (Lexa), Andrew, Mark, Karen &nbsp;two great-grandchildren Ellery, Willow; and brother, Edward Hatlestad of Willmar.</p> <p>Ellsworth is preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents; and brothers,, Sherlyn, and Hanley and sister, Gladys Powers.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Blessed be his memory.&nbsp;</p>

Ellsworth T. Ellsworth Thorin Hatlestad was born on April 21, 1926, on a farm in Arctander Township, the son of Cornell and Geoline (Rood) Hatlestad.
