John F. Silvestre, Jr., 75, of Audubon passed away peacefully early morning Friday, April 15, 2016, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born December 22, 1940 in Norristown, PA he was the son of the late Doris E (Hunsicker) and John F Silvestre, Sr., and loving husband of Berni E. (Puleo) Silvestre. Mr. Silvestre attended St. Francis of Assisi School, Bishop Kenrick class of 1958, where he was class valedictorian and Villanova University, 1962. He was Methacton HS Ice Hockey coach; and a member and actor in many community theater groups. His favorite production was Fiddler on the Roof, in his recurring role as Tevye. He took great pride in his director debut of the production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He carried his love of theater and music over to Visitation BVM guitar group each Sunday. He was an avid sports memorabilia collector, poker player, and loved following Villanova sports, the Phila. Phillies and Flyers. Most of all he adored his wife, children, grand and great grandchildren who brought him so much joy. In addition to his wife of 55 years, his survivors include his children: David (Lisa) Silvestre, Donna (George) Mengel, Steve (Kristi) Silvestre, Tara (Robert) Turner; 12 grandchildren: Kim, Heather, Kevin, Lauren, Ethan, Drew, Lindsey, Shane, Brett, Ty, Chad, and Savannah; great grandson, Parker; sister, Judy (Ken) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. Silvestre. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 8:45 9:45 am, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 So. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA. His Memorial Mass will follow at 10 am. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, DeKalb Pk, E. Norriton, PA.
