Robert E. O'Connor

Robert E. O’Connor, 74, of Enfield, beloved husband for 49 years to Gail (Drohen) O’Connor, passed away peacefully at Johnson Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Born in New Haven, CT on August 30, 1946, he was the son of the late John J. and Julia (Lipowski) O’Connor and grew up in New Haven. Bob joined the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and served in the 173rd Airborne Division and was part of the RED HORSE Squadron. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Bob went on to have a 30 year career with the United States Postal Service, retiring as a Tour Superintendent at the Bradley Airport Post Office in 2006. Bob had a passion for old cars and building model cars. He loved animals, especially his Rottweiler Shadow. A dedicated Veteran, loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be missed by many. Besides his wife Gail, he leaves 2 children, Kerry O’Connor and Scott O’Connor; 2 grandchildren, Noah Chabot and Rebecka O’Connor; his brother, Jim O’Connor; and 2 special cousins, Leo Bombalicki and Lynne Len. He was predeceased by his brother John T. O'Connor. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels has care of arrangements.
