Janice Benita Luke departed this life peacefully on May 15, 2021 at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA. She was born in McDuffie County, GA on December 5, 1964 to both the late Aaron Luke, Sr. and Annie Mae Daggett Luke. She was a faithful member of the Greater Young Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, GA until her illness presented her regular attendance. A staunch believer in the importance of education, Janice had the privilege of working as an Instructor in Columbia, McDuffie and Richmond Counties. She travelled to many Educational Conferences in the United States and also to Canada, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Spain, and presented in Warsaw, Poland. She leaves to cherish her memory: two sisters, Sandra Luke Odom of Harlem, GA and Hazel (Joseph) Ivey of Augusta, GA; a brother, Aaron, Jr. (Theresa) Luke of Harlem, GA; one niece, Dr. Nikkau A. Odom of Los Angeles, CA; two nephews, Aaron Luke, III of Harlem, GA and Milledge E. (Lloyda) Luke of Martinez, GA; one aunt, Ludell Daggett of Augusta, GA; one uncle, Richard Daggett of Augusta, GA; a great-niece; five great- nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
