Rose Marie Dill Obituary

Rose Marie Ralrick Dill passed away on May 13, 2021 16 days before her 86th birthday. Our mom was born in Ottawa Illinois on May 29, 1935 and was the 3rd daughter of Anna Marie Gagliardo and Joseph Morris Ralrick. Rose worked a couple jobs before marriage, Burpee and Bell, but when she was 20 years old, she met Bobby Gene Dill in Quartzite, Arizona at a roller-skating rink. Bobby ran into Rose, literally, and the romance was born. Bobby was also in the Air Force and subsequently, the young couple moved to Warner Robins, Georgia where they had 4 children. Rose moved around a lot when her father was in the Air Force, but she wanted more stability and stayed at Warner Robins when Bobby was stationed overseas. When he was stationed at March AFB, the family moved to Riverside. Eventually they moved to Hamilton Air Force Base in Ignacio, California and when Bobby retired, they moved to a house in Novato. Bobby passed away not long after retirement leaving Rose to raise her 4 children. Rose got a job until circumstances forced them to move back to Riverside. Rose lived in Riverside until her parents’ deaths, then moved to Idaho to be with her brother and sister in Post Falls. Rose lost her brother, and then her sister and lived with her son and nephew in the Post Falls home until May 13, when she passed peacefully. Rose loved reading. She would snack on her favorite candies while reading her books, notably, Dean Koontz who was her favorite author. She had a little crush on him. She went to garage sales with Sylvia and loved her pets. Rose is survived by her daughters, Terri (Duane), Virginia, Carolyn (Mel) and her son Robert, her 9 grandchildren, Kevin, George, Karissa, Jackie, Bobbie Jean, Michael, Amanda, Elaina and Jacob, and her great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Kaydence. The children will be taking Rose’s remains to Carbon Hill, Alabama, to finally join her beloved husband, Bobby Gene. What a joyful reunion that will be.
