Obituary

Keith Owens, was born in Greeley, Colorado to Betty Jurgens and Eugene Justin Owens. He spent  most of his life in Colorado.  Keith was the second youngest child, having 2 brothers and a sister: Steve, Jeff, and Carol.  His brother Jeff Owens was his best friend and companion where they could always find a way to enjoy the great outdoors.

He married Marisa Palombo on August 18th, 1979. Before the birth of his own kids, he found joy in camping, fishing and helping with his brother Jeff and Delfina Owens’ children Adam and Jeff Jr. They made their home in the rural Colorado town of Hudson.  Here is where Keith and Marisa raised their 3 Kids, Daniel, Larissa, and Zachary.  He helped ensure that the children enjoyed everything from sporting events to 4-H and working on cars.

He worked at Pepsi for 28 years, nearly all of his working career.  Here, he carried out various jobs from dock work, forklift operator, and semi driver.  He loved the outdoors.  Hunting was a huge part of his life until his brother Jeff and his family moved to Montana.   After that he went on a few more hunting seasons with his children, but found himself most at peace fishing at the lake.  He loved to lure fish and was quite good at it.

After retiring, the family moved to Roggen Colorado. Here he found his true calling:  being grandpa.  This is the part of his life he flourished at.  He was born to be a grandpa. This is what Keith truly loved.  His grandsons, Parker Owens and Lane Kreutzer and his granddaughters Alaya Owens and Kylee Kreutzer were his best friends.  The time with grandchildren was by far the highlight of his life.  Unfortunately, his death preceded the birth of his next grandson, Easton Owens.  Without a doubt, he would have found the same love for him.  His absence will leave a large void in the life of the grandchildren.

Keith passed away in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with chronic illness, early May 14, 2021.  He is survived by his wife Marisa; son, Daniel (Cathleen) Owens; daughter, Larissa (Michael) Kreutzer; son, Zachary (Katie) Owens; Grandchildren, Lane and Kylee Kreutzer, Parker and Alaya Owens, expected Easton Owens, and sister-in-law Delfina Owens.  He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his two brothers, Steve and Jeff Owens, and his sister Carol Dean.
