Age 88, of Plum, on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Husband of the late Shirley Cartney. Father of Michael S. (Gail) Cartney, Ken W. Cartney, and Susan M. (Martin) Piasecki; Grandfather of Rebecca (Ericke) Evans, Angela (Chad) Blystone, Michael G. Cartney, Jesse (Paula) Cartney; Great Grandfather of Steven, David, and Austin Evans, Eliana, Zeta, and Sullivan Blystone, Jensen and Nora Cartney; Proceeded in death by his sister, Dolores Schupbach; also survived by nieces and nephews. Mike was a proud US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War where he earned a Bronze Service Star. He retired from his work as an automotive and motorcycle technician and business owner. He also worked as a distributor for MAC tools and Cornwell Tools. Hunting, motorcycling, power sports engineering were some of his hobbies, but ultimately, spending time with his family was one of Mike's greatest joys. Friends received, Monday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd./Roth Chapel,7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills, where a Service will be held, Tuesday, 11:00 am. Interment and Military Honors to follow in Plum Creek Cemetery. To best honor Mike, an animal lover, donations may be made to Animal Protectors, 730 Church St., New Kensington, PA 15068.
