Robert “Bob” Weidler----85, Voltaire, ND, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in a Minot hospital.
Robert Fred Weidler was born on July 31, 1935, a son of Fred and Martha (Hauser) Weidler Jr. He was raised and educated south of Velva, where he attended grade school in the Coulee School District in Brown Township. He graduated from Velva High School in 1953. Following graduation, Bob worked as a farm laborer for Henry Frantsen.
In 1958, Bob enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1960. He resumed farming with the Frantsen family until he and Kristy Knutson took over the operation. They then were later joined in farming with Elton, Ray, Harold and Allan. Bob retired in 2018.
Bob enjoyed being out in the shop, going for rides around the country side and getting together with family. Bob was a wonderful uncle that will be greatly missed
Robert is survived by:nephews, Allan Weidler, Dean (Melonie) Weidler, David (Susan) Weidler all of Velva, ND; niece, Jane Weidler (Todd Kjosen) South Sioux City, NE;great-nieces and nephews, Lindsay (Marshall) Knaup, Brendan (Beth) Weidler, Jordan (Karli) Weidler, Hannah Weidler, Matthew (Amanda) Weidler, Tommy (Leah) Weidler, Josh (Cory) Weidler, and Sarah (Tyler) Ystaas; great-great-nieces and nephews, Blakely, Kirby, Quinn, Hayes, Haddie, Lou, Harrison, Keelah, Payton, Kolter, Hudson, Ava, Halle, Augustus; Collins, Casen, and Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harold and sister-in-law, Lois Ann.
Visitation: Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 3 until 5 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva
Graveside Service: Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11 am at the Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND
