Anthony Mozzicato Jr.

Anthony Mozzicato Jr., 81, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Mary A. (Petrolito) Mozzicato died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at home. Anthony was born in Hartford, CT, on July 15, 1939, son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Uccello) Mozzicato. He grew up in the south end of Hartford on Wethersfield Ave and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. Anthony went on to become a licensed electrician and ran his own business until recently. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Petrolito on April 30, 1960 and they made their home together in South Windsor. Anthony was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending every moment he could with his family He coached youth football and baseball when his children were young. He enjoyed UCONN Women’s basketball, the Cleveland Indians, and the Cleveland Browns. There was also a special place in his heart for Atlantic City and trips to the casino with his family, as well as his love of all Italian music. Above all, his family was most important to him and he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Along with his wife of over 61 years, Mary he leaves his children, Anthony Mozzicato III and his wife Suzanne of Ellington, Sebastian Mozzicato of South Windsor, and Josephine Giroux and her husband Pierre of South Windsor; his sisters, Lucy Kivney of Jacksonville, FL, and Pauline Filipone of Winter Haven, FL; his sister-in-law, Mary Mozzicato of Port Charlotte, FL; his grandchildren, Chantal Daugherty and her husband Kevin of South Windsor, Pierre Giroux Jr. and his wife Jennifer of South Windsor, Joseph Giroux of South Windsor, Natalia Mozzicato of South Windsor, Anthony Mozzicato IV of Ellington, and Frank Mozzicato of Ellington; and his great grandchildren, Grace, Ava, Catherine, Emma, Madelyn, and Everett. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael, Joseph, and John Mozzicato. Funeral Services and Burial will be private at the request of his family. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor has care of the arrangements.
