Martin Fredrick Tschacher, 67, of Gering, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Skyview of Bridgeport. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, May 17 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Gering with Father Michael McDonald as Celebrant. A Rosary Service will be held at 10am at the church. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Martin’s honor be made in care of the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department. Martin was born to Leo and Helga (Hansen) Tschacher and grew up in Hemingford, Nebraska. He married Cynthia Smith and they had three children Scott, Nikki and Carly. He was a member of the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department until he moved away from the area. He worked as a corrections officer in Rapid City, SD until he retired in 2014. He is survived by his children, sisters Lynda Montague, Kay Varah (Kirk), Shelly Hammock, 2 grandchildren; nephews Thomas Montague, Joel (Allison) Varah, Seth Hammock, Sean Hammock, Shane Hammock, a great niece and three great nephews.Obituary
