Madeline Payne, 93, of Whitesville, KY died on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Carmel Home. She was born March 21, 1923, in Daviess County to the late Otis and Irene Payne Morris and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Ivo Payne; a son, Joseph Merrill; two son-in-laws, Wendell Aud, and David Fischer; grandson Joey Fischer; brothers, Richard, Edward, John, and Francis Morris; sisters, Trelva Anderson and Mae Ella Wathen and sister-in-law, Joyce Morris. She is survived by sons: William (Charlotte) Payne and Francis, Jr.(Alzena) Payne of Whitesville, KY; daughters, Catherine Irene (Roy) Payne of Philpot, KY, Mary Ann Aud of Whitesville, Patricia (Ray) Hamilton of Whitesville, Rose (David) Hamilton of Philpot, Brenda (Norbert) Howard of Whitesville, Sandra (Leon) Mills of Philpot, Rita Fischer Payne of Owensboro and Donna (Tim ) Cecil of Hawesville; sister-in-laws, Irene Morris of Owensboro and Dottie Morris Payne of Knottsville; brothers, Robert (Rose) Morris of Louisville, Harold (Barbara) Morris of Whitesville, and James (Alice) Morris of Virginia; 35 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the sisters, nurses, and staff at the Carmel Home for the wonderful, loving care and kindness given to Madeline (Maddie). Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, KY. Burial is in St. Williams Cemetery, Knottsville, KY. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville and from 9 to 9:30 on Saturday. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
