Daphne Nicolls Obituary

On the 11th December 1939, God graced the world with His child Daphne Augustine. He gifted her to her earth bound parents, Virginia Edith Augustine and Atlebert Hilaire (both deceased). Daphne, was the 5th child of 6, but the only girl. Daphne was a seamstress by profession, and at the age of 21 she measured her options, cut out a plan and stitched herself in marital union to Robert Nicolls (deceased) and then became, for the rest of her years, Daphne Nicolls. Daphne dedicated her younger years to raising her two biological children, Roberta & Robert, and loved and supported them as well as her step daughter, Mislee Boodram, in all aspects of their lives. For the last 24 years of her life, Daphne, affectionately known as "Tanty", "Moms", "Aunty D" and "Miss Daphne", touched the lives of almost if not all the people who were blessed to know her. Her love for Jesus, evident to any who had 2 seconds to listen to her speak, as she would be sure to tell you how blessed she was to know Him. She had no greater joy than the service she gave to her Heavenly Father, as even at the moment of her passing, she was in His house, giving Him His due praise! No one who has received a blessing from her will ever forget her. Daphne was preceded in death by: her husband Robert Nicolls, her brothers Stedmon, Gregory & Perry Augustine, grandson Mikyle Nicolls & her parents Virginia Augustine & Atlebert Hilaire. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children Roberta & Robert Jr. Nicolls; her grandchildren Shakira Nicolls & Malcolm Francis; her great grandchildren Che' Koon Koon, Azalea Belgrave, Kaiya Belgrave & Jazara Bayne; her brothers Bert & Thomas Augustine; nieces & nephews, Maria Ramie, Michelle Clarke, Bertum Baptiste, Marsha Augustine & Carla Merit; along with 20 great nieces & nephews and a host of great-great nieces and nephews; as well as her adopted daughters, Malika, Esther, Ingrid and Maureen. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Daphne Nicolls. Leave a message on the Tribute Wall to share your favorite memories and offer words of sympathy and comfort.
