Joseph R. Vittorio Obituary

Joseph R. Vittorio, age 90, of Munroe Falls passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 in his grandson’s arms at Summa Western Reserve Hospital Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Joseph was born March 18, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Josephine (Fermo) Vittorio.  He married the love his life Evelyn Vittorio in 1953.  He was a U.S. Army Korea War veteran, member of the American Legion Post 496, Knights of Columbus.  He owned and operated with his wife A to Z Rental Center, 211 Cherry Street, Kent, Ohio for over 25 years.

He is survived by his son Joseph A. Vittorio Sr. (Nicole); grandson, Joseph A. Vittorio Jr. (Devon); great-grandchildren, Anthony “A.J.” Vittorio, Ava and Jaxson.  He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Vittorio; daughter, Cynthia Maria Vittorio; sister, Connie Blazek; parents, Joseph, Josephine Vittorio.

Private Funeral services were held at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Kevin O'Brien officiating.  Burial at Crown Hill Cemetery with a 3 volley salute from the American Legion.  The family would like to say how thankful they are to the U.S. Renal Dialysis Cuyahoga Falls, Summa Western Reserve Hospital and Staff.  Also, a very well deserved thanks to Chief Lee Chafin and the Munroe Falls EMS department, even at 4 a.m., who gave us a few more years and memories.
