Karen Semelsberger Obituary

Karen (Munnia) Semelsberger, 74 of Kenmore passed away on May 8, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.  She was a 1964 graduate of Kenmore High School, and married Tom on May 9, 1970.  She was very active in the P.T.A. at Pfeiffer, Innes and Kenmore High Schools.  She was a lifelong member of Hope United Methodist Church. She loved that family as if they were her own. Karen never met a stranger and was the kindest most compassionate person.  She always took the time to help everyone, even just to listen without judgement.  She put everyone else above herself.  Her love for Jesus was instilled in her at a young age and passed to her girls and grandchildren.  She is what Christ-filled love looks like.  Jesus was ready to call her home.

Karen will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years Thomas Semelsberger, daughters Heather Semelsberger, Heidi Hayes and Melissa Semelsberger, grandchildren Zachary (Michelle) Semelsberger, Jordan Matheney, Spencer Baglia, Ireland Hiscock, McGuire Hiscock, Georgia Ruhl and Justyce Hayes, great-granddaughter Kalli Matheney and sisters Shirley (John) Swires, Sandy Shipley and Diane (Gary) Gage

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 2650 Cory Ave., Akron, officiated by Pastor John Tironis.  Calling hours will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm.
