Betty Gail Glasel
December 6, 1938 – May 5, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and much love, we mourn the passing of Betty on May 5, 2021 at 82 years.
Betty was predeceased by her parents; Frances and Sidney Grammer, and siblings; Robert, Margaret, Joe, Leona, Gerry, Norman, and Dennis.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Art, her four children; Barbara Ann Engman (Gordon), Deborah Gail Goldsmith (Casey), John Gerald Goldsmith and Roger Glasel (Marcie) and her brother, Richard Grammer. She also leaves to mourn her loss; ten grandchildren; Clayton, Jason and Douglas Mierau, Cory Clapson (Jill), Pamela Frerichs (Bryan), Brandon Goldsmith (Morgan) Heather Goldsmith (Jason Kidd) and Dylan, Maea, and Adalie Glasel, as well as two great grandchildren; Connor and Anna Clapson. She is loved, missed and very dear to numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and family.
She spent many years cooking in camps and most recently at Em-Te Town. Betty always kept busy gardening, berry-picking, canning and pickling. Her cooking and baking ability was second to none and she enjoyed having her family and friends gathering and eating at her table. She loved her hobbies of crocheting and making patchwork quilts. Betty was a tireless volunteer in the community, working at the Alder Flats and Buck Lake Schools and Buck Lake Hall. She enjoyed country music and when not too busy on the farm, she and Art loved to go dancing.
Due to Covid restrictions a private family funeral will be held at Affinity Funeral Chapel 5137 – 50 Avenue. Drayton Valley, Alberta. On May 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. In order to accommodate Covid-19 restrictions and those who are unable to attend, livestreaming of the service will be available by visiting www.affinityfuneralservice.ca
