Henry Lee Greene, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at his home in Dover, Delaware, in the presence of family and friends. He was born in Columbia, North Carolina, on Friday, April 23, 1937, to Ransom and Elizabeth Greene. Henry graduated from O. A. Peay High School in Swan Quarter, North Carolina, where he excelled in baseball. On July 2, 1957, he married the former Mary Agnes Simpson. He retired from Sun Oil Chemicals in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, after 30 years of service, as a chemical engineer. He enjoyed playing cards, watching old westerns and wrestling. He was also a devoted Trustee and was President of the Transportation Committee at Calvary Baptist Church. Henry was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Ransom Jr., LeRoy, Leon and Lee Thomas Greene; sister, Mary Lee Midgette; and son, Kenneth R. Greene. Henry leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Mary A. Greene; daughter, Carmen “Princess” Kelly (James); sons, Anthony Simpson, Andre (Divina), Henry, Hector and Darren Greene; six sisters, Ollie Ricks of Chesapeake, Virginia, Evelyn Hopkins of Greeneville, North Carolina, Carrie Lucas of Smyrna, Delaware, Queen Greene of Dover, Delaware and Carolyn and Lucy Greene of Swan Quarter, North Carolina; one brother, William Greene of Dover, Delaware; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
