Zachary Powell Greening (Zach), age 28, passed away in Denver, Colorado on May 4 th , 2021. He was born on May 11 th , 1992 in Plano, Texas to Mitch and Carol Greening. He grew up in Florida, where he attended Pine View School for the Gifted in Osprey. He was an honor student and played many sports in his youth with an emphasis on soccer, playing for Venice High School and on Division 1 traveling competitive club teams for many years. After high school, Zach attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he loved hanging out with friends, skiing and hiking in the mountains on the weekends, and cheering on the Buffaloes sports teams. After graduating from college with a degree in Psychology, Zach worked as a contractor to Microsoft and Uber as a Geo-Spatial Imaging Analyst, as a contractor to IBM as a Technical Support Specialist and for the last several years as a Legal Assistant for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Appeals Division, in Lakewood, Colorado which is the job he enjoyed the most. Zach lived in downtown Denver with his partner, Hannah Sibert. He loved attending Denver sporting events, concerts, and comedy shows; playing tennis and soccer and skiing; reading a wide variety of books; and taking advantage of all the cultural activities and outdoor space the city and the state of Colorado have to offer. He listened to music constantly and prided himself on his detailed knowledge of many musicians and their works. He was also a talented photographer and artist and loved all animals, big and small. He is survived by his parents Mitch and Carol Greening, his grandparents Myron Loula and Jane Greening, and his partner Hannah Sibert. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles and their spouses: Kathy (Dennis Burnell) Loula, Mary (Ben) Oosterbaan, Becky (John) Thomas, Mark (Marlene) Loula, Mike Loula, Michael Greening, Mark (Jolee) Greening, and Mary (Fred) Glass as well as eight cousins: Katherine Oosterbaan; Jay and William Thomas; and Michael, Matt and Marko Loula, and Jessica and Kylie Warner. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Homer Greening and Mary Loula. Zach was the light of our lives, and a beautiful angel who will be so very dearly missed. We will hold a celebration of life for Zach in Denver, later this summer.
