Randolph Thomas Fox Sr. Obituary

Mr. Randolph Thomas Fox Sr., age 66 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

Randolph Thomas Fox, Sr. was born November 9, 1954 in Sanford, North Carolina to Emma Yarborough and Grady Fox. To this marital union a younger brother, Vincent Fox, was born.    At an early age Randolph and Vincent lost their mother due to health complications. Their grandmother, Lillie Yarborough, and aunt, Helen Yarborough, stepped in to provide motherly love and raised the young brothers as their own. During his upbringing, Randolph was raised with three additional siblings: Anthony McLean (Greensboro, NC), Cornelia McLean (Sanford, NC) and Cathy Williams (Grand Rapids, Michigan). Randolph departed his earthly life on May 7, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Randolph was educated in the Lee County School System and graduated from Sanford Central High School in 1973. He was a superb athlete with natural abilities who excelled on the football field. Randolph was an integral part of the 1973 3A State Championship Football team. After high school, Randolph wed Janet Tysor and three beautiful children were born: Emma Yvette, Lakeisha Monique, and Randolph Jr. (affectionately known as Boggie).

Randolph was employed for many years at UNC Greensboro as well as Sanford Finishing. He loved to go fishing, play softball, and to watch a good western. Spending time with his family and friends was always the highlight of his day. Randolph had a fun-loving spirit, great sense of humor, and charisma that could captivate an audience. Randolph was a loving father to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In his youth Randolph attended Cameron Grove AME Zion Church in Broadway, NC then later transitioned his attendance to Blandonia Presbyterian Church in Sanford, NC. He found his way back to his home church, Cameron Grove AME Zion, in later adulthood.

Randolph was preceded in death by his mother (Emma & Helen), father (Grady), son (Randolph, Jr.).
